Their first album, Room on the 3rd Floor, also hit number one in the UK Albums Chart and would earn Mc Fly a Guinness World Record for being the youngest band to have a debut album enter the charts in the top position, previously held by the Beatles.That year, Mc Fly would support Busted on tour before going on to headline a personal tour in September 2004.Dougie is also credited as a lead writer and co-writer on many of Mc Fly's songs.

Dougie and Ellie Goulding were in a relationship from February 2014 until December 2015.

But they were spotted out together at a London Fashion Week event on 21 February 2017, sparking rumours they were back together.

Before Ellie, Dougie dated Frankie Bridge (née Sandford) of The Saturdays from 2008-2010.

Daniel Alan David "Danny" Jones (born 12 March 1986) is an English musician who is one of the lead vocalists and guitarists for pop-rock band Mc Fly.

The band's second studio album, Wonderland, was released in 2005 followed by Motion in the Ocean in 2006.

A Greatest Hits compilation was released in 2007 followed by two more studio albums: Radio: Active (2008) and Above the Noise (2010).

He once said that he would willingly to go back into the jungle again.

Speaking in 2013 to Magic FM he said: “I could quite happily live off of rice and beans, it didn’t bother me.” Dougie along with the other Mc Fly boys joined Busted stars Matt Willis and James Bourne to form supergroup, Mc Busted. The band then went onto release their debut album Mc Busted.

He served as the lead writer for Mc Fly's seventh number-one hit single 2007's "Transylvania." He also wrote an unrecorded track called "Silence Is a Scary Sound." and One Direction (for the track "I Would" from the album Take Me Home and for the track "Don’t Forget Where You Belong" from the album Midnight Memories, respectively).

He also worked alongside seasoned artists Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) and Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) to develop the album for the Mc Fly Busted supergroup, Mc Busted.

In November 2013, Mc Fly joined the band Busted to form the super-group, Mc Busted.
